Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 8th, 2026Welcome to Your Start Path (accessible at https://www.yourstartpath.com). This personal blog is created and operated by me, Esme (“I,” “me,” or “my”), from Montréal, Québec, Canada.
Your privacy matters to me. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information I collect, how I use it, how I protect it, and the rights you have under Québec’s Law 25, Canada’s PIPEDA, CASL, and other applicable privacy laws.
By using this website, downloading free guides, or subscribing to my emails, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Who I Am
I am an individual blogger operating under the name Your Start Path. I am not a corporation or registered company. I write about focus, mindset, productivity, and simple daily routines from my personal experience.

2. What Personal Information I Collect
I only collect the minimum information necessary to run this blog and deliver value to you. This may include:
- Email address — when you request the free 5-Step Focus Card or join my newsletter
- First name (optional) — if you choose to provide it
- IP address and browser/device information — collected automatically for security, spam protection, and analytics
- Cookies and usage data — to understand how visitors use the site and to improve your experience
- Comment information — if you leave a comment (name, email, IP address, and comment content)
I do not collect sensitive personal information such as health records, financial data, or government ID numbers.
3. How I Collect Your Information
- Directly from you — when you fill out the email form to receive the free printable guide or subscribe to updates
- Automatically — through cookies, server logs, and analytics tools when you browse the site
- From comments — if you choose to leave a public comment
4. Why I Collect Your Information (Purpose & Legal Basis)
I use your information for the following legitimate purposes:
- To deliver the free 5-Step Focus Card PDF you requested
- To send occasional focus tips, new articles, and resources (only with your consent)
- To improve the website, content, and user experience
- To detect and prevent spam or abuse
- To comply with legal obligations
Under Québec Law 25 and PIPEDA, I rely on your consent (when you submit a form) and legitimate interest (for basic analytics and security) as the legal bases for processing.
5. Email Communications & CASL Compliance
When you enter your email to receive the free guide, you are giving me express consent to:
- Send you the requested PDF
- Send occasional emails with focus tips, new blog posts, and helpful resources
I use Brevo to manage email subscriptions and send requested guides and newsletters. When you subscribe, your email address and subscription details may be processed through Brevo in accordance with its privacy practices.
I comply with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) and the U.S. CAN-SPAM Act. Every email I send includes a clear Unsubscribe link. You can opt out at any time with one click. I will not sell, rent, or trade your email address to third parties for their own marketing.
6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
This site uses cookies and similar technologies to:
- Remember your preferences
- Understand which pages are most useful
- Keep the site secure
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling cookies may affect some features of the site.
I may use privacy-focused analytics tools (such as basic server logs or GDPR-friendly analytics). These tools collect anonymized or aggregated data whenever possible.
7. Affiliate Links and Third-Party Services
This site contains affiliate links (including ClickBank and possibly other networks). If you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, I may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.
These third-party platforms have their own privacy policies and may collect data when you visit their sites. I am not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites. I encourage you to read their policies before making a purchase.
I only recommend products I have personally used or carefully vetted.
8. Embedded Content
Articles may include embedded content (e.g., videos, audio players, or social media posts). Embedded content from other websites behaves as if you visited the other website directly. Those sites may collect data about you and use their own cookies.
9. Comments
If you leave a comment, I collect the data shown in the comments form, your IP address, and browser user agent string to help with spam detection. An anonymized string (hash) of your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service to check whether you are using it. After approval, your comment and profile picture become publicly visible.
10. How Long I Keep Your Data
- Email subscribers — I keep your email until you unsubscribe or ask me to delete it
- Comments — retained indefinitely so I can recognize follow-up comments
- Analytics data — typically retained in anonymized or aggregated form for a limited period
You can request deletion of your data at any time (see Section 12).
11. Who I Share Your Data With
I do not sell your personal information. I may share limited personal information with trusted service providers that help me operate this blog and deliver the services you request, including:

- Analytics providers — if enabled, to help me understand how visitors use the site and improve content. Where possible, I use aggregated or de-identified information.
These service providers may process information on my behalf to provide their services. I only share information that is reasonably necessary for those purposes.
